The envelope, please. And the winner is...
"Good Morning, Kendall", by James Hornick! Congratulations!
Mr. Hornick is fairly new with us, and this is his first monthly prize win. Doubtless he has a speech prepared, so while he's telling it to the Academy, I'll take this opportunity to announce the Honorable Mentions. Who, unlike James, don't get cash prizes, but they came close.
And the Honorable Mentions are...
"The Stars Within Me", by Jeff Currier, down by a single vote in a very close race
"Child of the Moon", by Alex McNall, with a very respectable 23
"Within Bunker 511", by Nina Miller, also with a solid vote count
Congratulations to all four of you!
Remember: This award belongs to the story with the most Rockets, as awarded by you, our dear and loyal subscribers. You alone have the power to choose which among us deserves to win the prize. Sure, some stories are only worth a single Rocket or even two, but the ultimate accolade of five can be awarded by any of you.
With that power comes the responsibility to use it well, so please do read and rate our stories. There are some very talented writers here, and they rely on your accolades as a measure of their success.
Don't let them down, friends.
