Editors' Choice:
"Human's Best Friend" by Alex McNall is the editor's pick as the winning theme story for November/December. Congratulations Alex!
Last month's theme prompt, Aspirational Utopias, ended on December 15th, with the final accepted entry published on January 13th. There were ten perfect stories about perfect societies and their many dangers.
Human’s Best Friend – A thrilling tale of loyalty, survival, and transformation
On an island where society is built on canine principles of love, loyalty, and mutual respect, a rogue intruder threatens the delicate balance. When a patrol dog is tasked with apprehending a dangerous stray, the mission becomes more than just containment — it’s a chance for redemption. Through cutting-edge empathy technology that bridges the gap between species, the stray must choose whether to embrace his new pack or remain an outcast. Human’s Best Friend is a gripping story of second chances, the power of connection, and the enduring bond between humans and their best friends.
